BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Launch Academy is holding the first ever contest to win a full scholarship to a web developer bootcamp. This is a life changing opportunity to learn the craft of web development for free. The contest runs from 2/25/15 - 3/20/15.
Voted one of the emerging leaders in immersive software developer education by SwitchUp, Launch Academy is providing an unprecedented $12,500 full scholarship to attend its 10-week web developer bootcamp in Boston this summer. The first-of-its-kind coding challenge scholarship will also provide a free MacBook Air to ten contest participants.
Launch Academy co-founder Dan Pickett says, “We all spend so much time working, yet so many people hate their jobs! The team at Launch Academy gets out of bed each morning excited to teach our students what we know because we truly love code, and we want our students to love it, too. That’s why, starting today, we’re offering the opportunity for someone to come and learn with us, for free!”

“[Launch Academy] is great. The process is really helpful exposing companies to talented junior engineers,” commented MeYou Health.
Coding bootcamps train people in software development by providing job specific skills required to build and collaborate at technology companies across the country.
Now a Software Engineer at EdModo, alumnus Brett Schollenger was deciding between Hack Reactor and Launch Academy. Reflecting on his decision to attend Launch Academy, he noted that “[Launch Academy is] known for following best practices to a T. They will teach you how to achieve your goals without pulling your hair out, how to write maintainable code, and how to tap into the vast experience of the dev community to keep from reinventing the wheel.” In the end, “the value of Launch Academy was much more than salary and job placement--Launch Academy allowed me to do work I really love every day, and gave me the tools I needed to continue my education.”
Kristina Durr used to work at a Library but wanted to change careers. After attending Launch Academy, she became a Web Developer at AdHarmonics, and she recalls that “the transition from classroom to workplace was pretty seamless. [Launch Academy] really recreated the startup working environment”.
