Deep Accelerates Big Data Push with Tech Industry Veterans

Former LogMeIn Execs Les Yetton and Chad Jones to Help Drive Growth of Database Startup

PORTSMOUTH, N.H.--()--Deep Information Sciences, a company that’s reinventing database science for the Big Data age, announced that industry veterans Les Yetton and Chad Jones have joined as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Strategy Officer, respectively. The former LogMeIn execs are teaming with Thomas Hazel, Deep’s founder, Chief Scientist and database visionary, to lead Deep’s next phase of growth.

“As Deep prepares to exit stealth mode, we’re ramping up on all fronts, including moving the company to Boston and putting the right people in place to fuel our growth,” said Hazel. “Both Les and Chad have had great success building disruptive technology companies. Their expertise at identifying market opportunities and bringing compelling solutions to market will be invaluable to Deep. I’m excited to have them join our team.”

“Tom has envisioned and created a fundamentally new and, I believe, revolutionary way to work with big data. As businesses rely more and more on information to drive their success—and come up against the inherent limitations of traditional database computer science—the power of Deep’s approach will become apparent,” said Yetton. “I’m looking forward to helping Deep execute on its vision of changing the way the world relates to data.”

”The major technologies enabling business innovation— including big data, analytics and Internet of Things—share a very important requirement: they need extremely high-performing yet simple-to-use databases in order to deliver on their potential. I believe Deep makes this possible in a way no other company has been able to achieve,” said Jones. “This is an incredibly opportune time for Deep to make its entry, and I’m thrilled to be part of the team.”

Les Yetton, CEO at Deep, has extensive experience building and transforming start-ups, mid-size and large-scale global B2B technology organizations. Proven at identifying and successful bringing disruptive technologies to market, molding high-performance teams, and accelerating company valuation, Mr. Yetton brings more than 30 years of leadership to Deep. Previously as SVP and GM at LogMeIn, he incubated and grew the Xively IoT offering into a recognized market leader. He served as Chief Marketing Officer at DynamicOps (acquired by VMware), CEO of Neocleus until its acquisition by Intel, and VP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development at Desktone (acquired by VMware). Earlier in his career, Mr. Yetton worked at Microsoft following the acquisition of Softricity, where he headed up VP of Sales and Business Development, and at Axis Communications, where he served as President and GM the Americas through its successful IPO.

Chad Jones, Chief Strategy Officer at Deep, is a technical and marketing executive with more than 18 years experience in strategy and development for IoT, cloud, virtualization and infrastructure technologies. His ability to understand nuanced technology and his keen sense of market and business needs has enabled Mr. Jones to take big ideas from inception through execution and deliver highly profitable outcomes. Previously as VP, IoT Strategy for LogMeIn, he drove the go-to-market for Xively, a premier Internet of Things brand. Earlier, Mr. Jones held senior strategy and product management roles at DynamicOps (acquired by VMware) and Neocleus (acquired by Intel). He also spent several years at Microsoft following the acquisition of Softricity, where he helped pioneer application virtualization.
