LISLE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Molex Incorporated, a leading global manufacturer of electronic solutions, was recently named a board member of the CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA), the worldwide body that develops and promotes CC-Link and CC-Link IE open automation network technologies. The CLPA supports member companies, provides technical assistance in product development, conducts conformance testing, and promotes CC-Link compatible products to the marketplace.
“Remaining ahead of the technology curve is fundamental to serving dynamic automation markets globally,” said George Kairys, product manager, Molex. “Being elected to the CLPA board presents tremendous opportunity to get involved developing applications and shaping the future technical direction of CC-Link.”
A market leading, open source communications protocol, CC-Link is widely deployed by device manufacturers, assembly line builders and system integrators providing robotics and automation solutions. CC-Link is the leading open industrial automation network technology in Asia and becoming increasingly popular in Europe and the Americas. The high speed, high performance industrial network technology delivers productivity to numerous industries, including automotive, consumer electronics, consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, life sciences, and energy management.
Automation processing power, data rates, on-device memory, and other advanced features are growing exponentially. As system control moves closer to the sensor or machine, CC-Link provides a common infrastructure to make communication more efficient. CC-Link enables devices from numerous manufacturers to communicate in a fast, deterministic control system. Improved machine and device level communication translates into smoother production operations.
The CLPA Board of Directors, Marketing Task Force and Technical Task Force help vendors develop products. Molex manufactures a range of CC-Link compatible products for automation and industrial applications, including I/O blocks, remote I/O and network interface cards. Partnering as a CLPA board member builds on the Molex commitment to industry collaboration and end users in high volume manufacturing industries globally.
“Collaborating with the CLPA, partner companies and members contributes to advancing the CC-Link protocol and commercial objectives, which brings more value to Molex customers,” adds Kairys.
