LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Holidaymakers have chosen their favourite hotels with two hotels in the UK being adorned with the HolidayCheck Award 2015. Europe’s largest travel portal has given Awards to hotels in 134 regions in 41 different countries, based upon the analysis of over a million hotel reviews from 2014.
There are strict rules in place for presenting the Award to the winning hotels. To even come into consideration for this sought-after accolade, a hotel must have collected at least 50 reviews from its guests in 2014 and must have been recommended by at least 90% of its former guests. Another tough hurdle that the hotels have to face are the HolidayCheck “Suns”, which holidaymakers use when reviewing hotel details like the room, location, service and spa facilities. The scale ranges from 1 (poor) to 6 (very good); winning hotels must have achieved at least 5 “Suns”.
In addition, a hotel must not have used manipulation to go against the portal’s Code of Conduct. HolidayCheck also reserves the right to revoke and reclaim a hotel’s current awards; all reviews go through a complex inspection system to uncover any systematic falsification.
The winners in the UK are:
- Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Tower of London**** - “Nice hotel, excellent Gold status recognition” - Situated right in the heart of London and a short stroll away from the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Traditional British cuisine available and Wi-Fi throughout.
- Hotel Ibis London City***- “Great Location for London-City Break” - With fully furnished bedrooms and satellite TV, one will feel more than at home in this hotel. Positioned around the corner from Tower Gateway Train Station, the hotel is in a great location to explore the heart of London.
