Senior Vice-President & Deputy General Counsel for Hewlett-Packard Moving to be New Leader of Homeless Services Provider

MENLO PARK, Calif.--()--The Board of Directors of InnVision Shelter Network (ivsn.org) – a leading provider of shelter and supportive services to assist homeless families and individuals in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties – announced today that Bruce Ives has been selected as Chief Executive Officer of the organization, effective March 30.

Mr. Ives is an accomplished executive with extensive management and leadership experience gained during 19 years at Hewlett-Packard where he held diverse positions of increasing management responsibility overseeing large teams and budgets. While at Hewlett-Packard, Mr. Ives also founded and led the legal team’s pro bono program, helping countless tenants, veterans, and women facing domestic violence, as well as others who need but can’t afford legal services. Under Mr. Ives’ guidance, the effort has grown to over 600 volunteers worldwide.

“We conducted an extensive search for a CEO with a successful track record in leading teams, strong strategic capability and fund raising skills, and who is a passionate advocate for people in need,” said Rod Ferguson, Chair of the InnVision Shelter Network Board of Directors. “Bruce’s lifetime commitment to community service and extensive business leadership experience make him the ideal person to manage this vital community organization.”

When asked what attracted him to the leadership role at InnVision Shelter Network, Mr. Ives said, “InnVision Shelter Network has a highly respected team with a proven track record for getting results. For decades, they have successfully provided the resources needed to help families and individuals break the cycle of homelessness. I am honored to be chosen to lead an organization where I can put my community values and business skills to best use.”

Mr. Ives’ commitment to public service began with his first job out of college at an inner-city school district. After law school, he joined the Los Angeles Public Defender’s office. He went on to be the District Director for Congresswoman Anna Eshoo in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. A resident of Menlo Park, he was an elected Trustee of the Menlo Park School District and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Public Advocates, a public interest law firm that works on issues of housing and education equity. He also serves as Treasurer for Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos Hills.

Mr. Ives earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
