SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Spring 2015 Vidal Sassoon Professional Beauty Education Scholarship Competition is accepting applications February 2 through March 23. The program’s “Basic” competition is open to students pursuing a career in the professional beauty industry at an American Association of Cosmetology Schools member school and the “Advanced” competition is open to licensed hairstylists. Winners of the “Basic” competition will receive 50 percent of beauty school tuition (up to $10,000), while “Advanced” competition winners will be awarded a five-day course at a Sassoon Academy in North America (up to $5,000 including travel, lodging and course fees).
Administered by the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation, a 501(c)(3) initiative of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools, and funded through the generous support of Wella’s Hairdressers at Heart, the competition honors the legacy of the late Vidal Sassoon.
The Spring 2015 competition is part of a $1.5M scholarship donation by Wella’s Hairdressers at Heart that runs through 2017. Winners are selected based on their written or video applications explaining how they plan to change lives through a career in the beauty and wellness industry.
