CHAP Appoints Two and Announces New Leadership for its Board of Directors

WASHINGTON--()--Community Health Accreditation Partner, Inc. (CHAP) announces the appointment of Patricia T. Driscoll, BSN, MSN, JD and Maureen Spivack to its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2015, for three-year terms.

Patricia Driscoll, both a nurse and an attorney, is the former President and CEO of Home Health Services of Texas, Inc, a community-based not for profit home health agency with offices in Dallas and Houston. She is a senior healthcare leader with proven success in creating and executing executive-level business development and operational strategies; developing and managing high-profile business and community relationships; and assessing and designing performance improvement strategies to support corporate mission and vision. Ms. Driscoll also serves as a professor at Texas Woman’s University at its School of Management, Health Service Management Program.

Ms. Spivack currently serves as the Managing Director, Co-Head – Healthcare Investment Banking at KPMG Corporate Finance, LLC, where she specializes in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and capital raises for health care companies. She has executed transactions spanning the full spectrum of health care services companies, including both post-acute care and behavioral health services. Originally trained as a nurse, Ms. Spivack’s experience includes over twenty years executing strategic and financial transactions for publicly traded, privately held and not for profit health care companies.

CHAP also announced the following transitions from its November Board meeting: Elizabeth Buff is now Immediate Past Chair; Katheen Dodd has been appointed Board Chair; Peggy Pettit has been named Chair Elect; and David Matyas has replaced Kevin McQueen as Treasurer.

CHAP is an independent, not-for-profit, accrediting body for community-based health care organizations. Created in 1965, CHAP was the first to recognize the need and value for accreditation in community-based care. CHAP is the oldest national, community-based accrediting body with more than 9,000 agencies currently accredited nationwide. Through "deeming authority" granted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), CHAP has the regulatory authority to survey agencies providing home health, hospice, and home medical equipment services, to determine if they meet the Medicare Conditions of Participation and CMS Quality Standards.
