T-Mobile Introduces the World’s First Original Ad for the Live Stream of The Big Game

BELLEVUE, Wash.--()--T-Mobile US, Inc. (NYSE: TMUS):

What: T-Mobile Chief Marketing Officer, Mike Sievert, debuted the first original ad produced exclusively for the Live Stream of The Game on T-Mobile’s blog today. Featuring renowned actor, comedian and sports anchor, Rob Riggle, the ad will run during NBC’s live stream on Sunday in the NBC Sports Live Extra app for tablets and Web site for desktops. With the television commercials driving unprecedented excitement, live stream viewers in years past have missed out, and now T-Mobile is giving them something totally unique, made especially for those cord cutters!

When: To see the T-Mobile ad now, you can visit Mike Sievert’s blog and then make sure to tune-in on Sunday, February 1 on the NBC Sports Live Extra app or Web site (NBCSports.com/LiveExtra).

Why: According to a recent survey, over half of Millennials would prefer to watch TV on something other than a TV. This new generation of wireless customers who stream, Skype, shop, tweet, post, pin − are defining the Mobile Age. Because this happens to be a group of people very near and dear to our hearts here at T-Mobile, and as America’s Un-carrier™, we wanted to bring them this ad in the medium that works best for them.

Earlier this week, America’s Un-carrier, T-Mobile, announced a partnership with football icon Richard Sherman and released a fun selfie-centric spot with Kim Kardashian West. Disruptors in their own right, these celebrities have found ways to authentically start conversations and break through the clutter, exactly the way T-Mobile has been shaking up the wireless industry on behalf of consumers for almost two years. This industry-first Game Day partnership with Rob Riggle illustrates T-Mobile’s continued groundbreaking maverick approach.

Background: On January 20, 2015, NBC announced they would live stream the Big Game via the NBC Sports Live Extra app without requiring authentication. This Big-Game first inspired T-Mobile to also deliver something unique – new, interesting content in line with this break frame approach.

In addition to this first-ever global streaming ad, and for those watching the game on their big screen, T-Mobile also released a sneak peek of a second ad for the Big Game featuring comedians Chelsea Handler and Sarah Silverman. Consumers should make sure not to leave their living rooms during the 3rd quarter of the game when the ad will debut.
