Discover’s Phoenix Customer Care Center Recognized as “Best Place to Work” for Second Year

PHOENIX--()--Discover’s Phoenix Customer Care Center has once again been selected by the Phoenix Business Journal as one of its “Best Places to Work” for 2014. The center ranked third overall and was one of six companies recognized in the Extra-Large Business category this year.

The Phoenix Business Journal works with a national research firm to survey, audit and rank nominated companies. Employees of each company are asked to participate in a survey that measures team effectiveness, leadership, compensation and benefits.

In Phoenix, employees have helped with local educational programs and raised funds for charitable organizations. As of 2014, the local office has:

  • Helped build 15 homes with Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona
  • Sent 450 care packages to troops overseas and also contributed 300 clothing and bath sets to support Operation Shower
  • Raised $6,642 to the Susan G. Komen organization to support breast cancer awareness
  • Collected 260 pounds of food for the Salvation Army
  • Participated in the Paseo Hills Elementary School Junior Achievement program

The customer care center provides customer service, banking, marketing services, and supportive functions for Discover and Discover Network customers. The location is a state-of-the-art center with 375,000 square feet of space that is home to an on-site café, fitness center, lounges and sports facilities.
