Ethertronics Raises the Bar with Newest EtherDAS M MIMO Solution Designed to Meet Global Wireless Operators’ Requirements

EtherDAS M™ MIMO Omni-Directional In-Building Antenna is World’s Smallest Volume Package Capable of Delivering Superior Performance and Faster Throughput

SAN DIEGO--()--Ethertronics, a leading technology company enabling innovative antenna and RF system solutions to deliver the best connected experience, today unveiled EtherDAS M™. As a MIMO Omni-Directional In-Building Antenna, EtherDAS M is capable of delivering both the lowest Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) in the world’s smallest volume package.

Designed for global 2G, 3G and 4G LTE applications, EtherDAS M provides a Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) spec of ≤1.5:1 for an optimum impedance match, providing higher transmit power and improved performance. While each mobile network operator has its own VSWR requirements, several Tier One global operators have increased their antenna radiation propagation pattern requirements. With EtherDAS M, Ethertronics is able meet these latest requirements by delivering a best-in-class solution for return loss, which is the equivalent of 14dB.

EtherDAS M is additionally capable of achieving industry-leading passive intermodulation (PIM) performance of -153dBc in all 2G, 3G and 4G bands – from 698MHz through 2.7GHz – delivering on mobile operators’ stringent PIM requirements for DAS. A low PIM figure indicates that a DAS system can minimize interference and provide noticeably superior performance and faster throughput on both the uplink and downlink.

To date, no other DAS provider has been able to deliver such a high-performance, low-PIM, low-VSWR solution in a small-volume package; EtherDAS M measures just 2.3” high by 9.7” in diameter.

“From smartphones and tablets to wirelessly enabled televisions and other consumer electronics, wireless penetration is continuing to increase, and as a result, wireless operators are needing to take a long, hard look at how they can best manage and improve in-building capacity and coverage,” said Anthony McCray, Sr. Director, Sales DAS and Small Cells Specialist for Ethertronics. “Moreover, many Tier One operators are raising their DAS requirements since these solutions are a viable means to delivering much-needed wireless connectivity while allowing them to keep a handle on their macro base station CapEx and OpEx. Our new EtherDAS M solution has specifically been designed to meet these new low-PIM and VSWR specifications for delivering the high speeds that mobile consumers have come to expect. To date, no other DAS vendor has been able to deliver on these specifications in such a small volume package. EtherDAS M further underscores our commitment to providing innovative DAS solutions to global operators, systems integrators, neutral host providers, and the enterprise.”

EtherDAS M’s MIMO feature enhances and maximizes LTE spectral efficiency.

EtherDAS M features a compact design and neutral color so it blends in with its surroundings.

EtherDAS M is available in two models:

  • Model #D121027H22 -- MIMO, Pigtail N-type, wideband, low PIM <-153dBc, low VSWR ≤ 1.5:1, plastic stem mount, Omni; and
  • Model #D123028H22 -- MIMO, Pigtail 4.1 - 9.5 Mini DIN-type, wideband, low PIM <-153dBc, low VSWR ≤ 1.5:1, plastic stem mount, Omni

Both models provide installation flexibility.

EtherDAS M is commercially available for order beginning in Q1 2015. For more information visit www.ethertronics.com/das.
