MiMA Scores Self-Made Baseball Star

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--()--MiMA in Silicon Valley elevates company brands, entrepreneurs, executives, TV personalities and now baseball star Adam Garrett Greenberg from Dublin, Calif., who has racked up three standout seasons of international professional baseball in Germany and Australia. Not the Adam Greenberg who was hit on the first pitch of his major league debut.

A left-handed power hitter with a batting average of .350. The league’s leader in RBIs and home runs, with a home run for every 17 at-bats and this year (2014) - Two time Player of the Week in the German National League for the HSV Stealers.

His superlative performance has come without any personal coaching—Adam is a self-taught baseball Phenom. And he wasn’t even that good at the sport in the beginning. But he loved it.

After an outstanding career at Dublin High School, where he led the team to a championship in his senior year and was named league MVP and ANG Player of the Year, he was recruited by six college teams and opted for St. Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif., to play Division 1 baseball.

A sprained ankle sidelined him his first year, but he didn’t let it get him down. He transferred to Diablo Valley College, where he ranked in the league top five in every offensive category. From there, he received a scholarship to play at the University of California at San Diego.

After earning his bachelor’s degree and taking a year off to work, coach a youth team, and volunteer in his community, Adam knew he wanted to return to the game he’d loved since he was three years old. He was immediately picked up by the Berlin Sluggers in the German National League (Bundesliga).

His dream now? To play for the majors. And to make a difference in kids’ lives.

“I want to show kids that they don’t have to be perfect at something to succeed,” he says. “If you work hard and dedicate yourself, you can achieve your goals.”

As for getting his shot in the majors, Adam says, “I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m just looking for the next opportunity to make the next diving catch to rob a home run, throw a guy out at first base, or hit a 95-mile-per-hour pitch out of the park. I love it all.”
