High Isolation MIMO Design Optimizes LTE and Wi-Fi Performance

(NASDAQ:PCTI), a leader in performance critical telecom solutions, announced today the launch of its VenU™ brand with a portfolio of antennas that improve wireless network capacity in stadiums, concert venues, train stations, airports, and other crowded areas. PCTEL’s VenU antennas combine high-speed MIMO coverage over LTE and Wi-Fi technologies while limiting capacity-draining interference.

Capacity, rather than coverage, is today’s key network engineering challenge. In crowded spaces, the voice and data demands strain network capacity, while increased network density can lead to capacity-killing interference. A high-quality customer experience requires complex, high-density, heterogeneous networks (HetNets) that support multiple wireless carriers. VenU antennas support LTE and Wi-Fi networks and minimize interference while delivering MIMO-based throughput enhancements.

PCTEL’s VenU antennas have been successfully deployed at major venues through our key infrastructure OEM customers, including Extreme Networks, Inc., which was recently named the first Official Wi-Fi Solutions Provider for the NFL.

VenU antennas meet the rigorous performance requirements of major OEM radio manufacturers, as well as the requirements of major cellular carriers. PCTEL’s VenU antennas achieve their optimized MIMO performance by utilizing high isolation, orthogonal elements. One antenna supports multiple LTE bands and dual-band 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi.

VenU antennas are available with a variety of flexible mounting solutions for stadiums and transportation hubs such as train stations and airports. PCTEL currently offers the VenU antenna in flat panel configurations. PCTEL will begin shipping additional models during the first quarter of 2015.
