City selects Tyler’s Munis ERP suite, Incode court software, EnerGov planning, permitting and licensing solution, and Tyler Public Safety

PLANO, Texas--()--Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed a seven-year software-as-a-service (SaaS) contract with the city of Mobile, Alabama, for an integrated suite of Tyler software solutions to replace the city’s 30-year-old system. The agreement, valued at approximately $11 million, includes hosting services, related professional services and support.

“Information technology is a critical investment and a strategic asset for the citizens we are here to serve,” said Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson. “Our current system no longer met the needs of a 21st century city. Tyler’s software is groundbreaking, innovative and puts us on the leading edge of technology.”

After a competitive review and demonstration process, Mobile selected Tyler’s Munis® enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, Incode® municipal court solution, EnerGovTM planning, permitting and licensing solution, and Tyler Public SafetyTM for a complete suite of integrated solutions. The city will benefit from Tyler’s evergreen perpetual licensing approach that provides regular and significant, yet manageable, software enhancements without an additional relicensing or service fee, ensuring all systems are using the latest technology.

By selecting cloud-based solutions, Mobile can rely on Tyler to maintain the city’s data and security, as well as perform disaster recovery services should the city experience a catastrophic event. More than 3,200 public sector organizations use Tyler’s cloud-based systems.

“The city of Mobile is considering the long term and investing wisely by selecting Tyler as the sole vendor for an integrated citywide system. Tyler’s singular mission is to provide software and services to cities like Mobile,” said John S. Marr Jr., president and chief executive officer of Tyler. “Our cloud-based solutions will provide significant long-term value for Mobile because Tyler manages the day-to-day maintenance of the system, allowing Mobile’s staff to focus on other critical functions. We’re pleased to partner with Mobile to help the city provide enhanced services to its constituents.”

The city of Mobile is the state’s oldest settlement and the second-largest city. Mobile is also the largest municipality on the Gulf Cost between New Orleans and St. Petersburg, Florida. The city has more than 2,650 employees and a population of 246,000.
