JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Main Street America Group’s employees have generously donated more than 1 ton of non-perishable goods to several local food banks, in addition to contributing over 500 toys to Toys for Tots and Project Share, to provide a brighter holiday season for less-fortunate adults and children throughout our local communities.
Nearly 1,500 people, including hundreds of families, will reap the benefits of Main Street America’s 11th Annual Holiday Season Food Drive. The donated items will provide much-needed goods to local food banks in the eight markets where the super-regional property/casualty insurance carrier has offices:
- Auburn, Mass. – Worcester County Food Bank
- Indianapolis, Ind. – Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana
- Jacksonville, Fla. – Nourishment Network/Farm Share (formerly Second Harvest Food Bank)
- Keene, N.H. – The Community Kitchen
- Maple Grove, Minn. – Second Harvest Heartland
- Omaha, Neb. – Omaha Food Bank/Food Bank for the Heartland
- Richmond, Va. – Central Virginia Food Bank
- Syracuse, N.Y. – The Food Bank of Central New York.
The toys donated by Main Street America’s employees during its 11th Annual Holiday Season Toy Drive include stuffed animals, games, dolls and a multitude of other gifts children will cherish. They were provided to Toys for Toys in all of Main Street America’s locations except Keene, N.H., where the company supports the region’s Project Share.
The Toys for Tots program was established by the U.S. Marine Corps to deliver a message of hope to needy children throughout the world via a shiny new toy during the holidays. Project Share’s Christmas Project Santa Claus makes the holidays brighter for less fortunate children, who reside in the Monadnock Valley area of Southwest New Hampshire, by fulfilling their pre-submitted “wish lists.”
