Allison+Partners Hires James Florez to be Dallas Office General Manager

DALLAS--()--Allison+Partners announced today that it has appointed James Florez to be general manager of the agency’s Dallas office. Considered one of the Southwest's leading marketing and communications strategists, Florez is charged with strategic counsel, business development, increasing the agency’s brand awareness in the region and growing the Dallas team.

With expertise in integrated campaign strategy and data-driven branding, Florez has spent more than two decades studying the minds of individuals, influencers and opinion shapers in the B2B, non-profit, government and consumer market segments. In his new role, Florez will work closely with Allison+Partners’ clients including Toyota, Flowserve, Supplemental Health Care and the Dallas Police and Fire Pension Fund, among others.

“James Florez is a terrific addition to the team, and his arrival marks the next phase of growth for the agency in Texas,” said Matthew Della Croce, senior partner and global head of the corporate practice at Allison+Partners. “James brings a strong regional network, data-driven expertise and an international perspective from his years of experience in Dallas leading offices for global agencies.”

Florez will use the Dallas team’s strengths in corporate communications, public affairs and crisis management to continue to expand the business while leveraging Allison+Partners’ network to develop new areas of focus in energy, healthcare, technology, real estate and consumer goods and services.

Jackson Harrell will shift his focus to strategic consulting, client service and supporting the agency’s overall growth in Texas and the corporate practice. “Jackson has been a tremendous asset to Allison+Partners. We thank him for putting the agency on the Texas map and are excited to have him continue to support clients and to help drive expanded growth and capabilities,” added Della Croce.

“I look forward to building on the incredible success the Dallas team has had over the past few years,” Florez said. “Allison+Partners’ unique culture, innovative approaches and global outlook position us well for great growth in what is one of the most exciting and dynamic business markets in the world.”

Prior to joining Allison+Partners, Florez was the co-founder of the McKinley James Agency (MJA), where he developed the Perspective Imperative, an evidence-driven communications planning approach that provides insight into how individuals shape their perspectives on and relationships with brands. As the general manager for Burson-Marsteller Dallas, he was the architect of breakthrough branding, marketing and public relations programs for clients such as DFW International Airport, the Houston Airport System, Mitsui Ltd. and The Texas Department of State Health Services. As the general manager of Edelman-Texas, Florez earned a reputation for using unconventional strategies and tactics to grow brands aggressively, executing campaigns for Boy Scouts of America, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and Nissan. As the lead brand strategist at M/C/C, a Dallas-based technology marketing firm, he developed the agency’s techno-branding methodology, which shifted technology marketing from a recitation of “feeds and speeds” to dialogue about the values and benefits that drive technology users.

An award-winning journalist whose beats ranged from Texas high school football to presidential politics and from crime to business, today Florez is an often-quoted expert on branding, communications and reputation management. He has been a lecturer at Southern Methodist University, the University of North Texas and Texas A&M University. He is active in numerous charitable and civic causes, including the founding of a nationally recognized non-profit medical clinic for low-income children in Lewisville, Texas.
