Columbus, Ohio, Selects the Accela Civic Platform to Modernize Land Management

The Department of Public Service Joins the Department of Building and Zoning Services in Automating Permitting Processes to Increase Productivity and Service Delivery

The City’s Department of Public Service will join the Department of Building and Zoning Services in automating the review and distribution of permit applications. Columbus will replace the current in-house permit system for right-of-way permits, moving toward an enterprise approach by leveraging Accela solutions across the agency. The Accela Civic Platform offers increased efficiency through collaborative reviews, enhanced reporting and improved access to critical information across departments.

Accela Land Management will streamline the City’s planning and zoning as well as permitting services. The new solutions will be focused on bringing permits for activities in the public right of way onto the Accela Civic Platform, enabling the Department of Public Service to track the review and distribution of permit applications.   • Sidewalk & Driveway Construction & Repair Permits
  • Café Seating, Banners & Site Amenities Permits

  • Comprehensive Right-of-Way Permits
  • Oversize Load Permits
  • Valet Parking
