Varrow’s Day of Caring

RDU Day of Caring

GREENSBORO, N.C.--()--During the month of November, Varrow employees throughout North and South Carolina devoted time to help those in need. In each of our offices and online Varrow contributed to their local food banks.

Local employees in the Raleigh area volunteered at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. While working there, Varrow employees bagged 3100 meals for local families in need.

In Greensboro, Varrow employees volunteered at Second Harvest Food Bank in Winston Salem, NC. They sorted through the donated food items and prepared boxed of food to go out to the local families. The Second Harvest Food Bank serves eighteen counties in North Carolina, and serves about 300,000 people each year.

In Charlotte seventeen Varrow employees volunteered at the Second Harvest Food Bank and sorted the donated goods and food. Varrow donated the equivalent of 1,491 pounds of food to the Second Harvest food bank, as well as 68 man-hours on our Day of Caring.

The Varrow community chose to help families in need during this time of giving thanks.

“During the Varrow Day of Caring, Varrow really came together to support the food banks in each of our local communities. It was very rewarding to volunteer for an organization that does so much to prevent hunger in our area,” said Morgan Paris, Varrow Human Resources Administrator.

Varrow employees volunteered over 80 hours to their local food banks. “Given the overwhelmingly enthusiastic response from Varrow employees, we plan to make this the first of many ‘Days of Caring’ at Varrow,” said Pat Heinrich, VP Strategy and Marketing at Varrow.
