Pulse Workspace Now Available on Google Play to Offer BYOD Workers On-Demand VPN Connectivity

Pulse Secure’s App Virtualization Technology Simplifies how Android and iOS Users Securely Connect to Applications and Services

SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Pulse Secure, a leading provider of access and mobile security solutions for enterprises and service providers, today announced the availability of Pulse Workspace 1.0 on Google Play. Pulse Workspace is the only security solution that provides a trusted BYOD container for iOS and Android, including the recently released Android 5.0 Lollipop, securing any app an enterprise requires for workplace productivity – all without modifying the native app.

Through the integration of App Virtualization technology, Pulse Secure offers every employee constant access to cloud and datacenter resources for collaboration, messaging, CRM, ERP and information sharing. Now available in Google Play, Pulse Workspace 1.0 downloads as an app to create a secure container for data, app and network separation. The technology is easy for users because workspace connectivity is automatic, invisible and happens at the touch of an app.

Pulse Workspace empowers enterprises to encrypt all data at rest, control data sharing between enterprise apps, wipe corporate data without affecting personal information, all while connecting directly to the enterprise VPN. Through availability in Google Play, Android users now have the same simple, user-friendly access to datacenter applications and services as their iOS counterparts. In the past, this has been a huge road-block for enterprises looking to connect BYOD users to the personal applications employees want and the productivity applications businesses need. As an additional benefit to Android users, Pulse Workspace 1.0 now supports Android 5.0 Lollipop, the latest version of the Android mobile operating system developed by Google.

“Access to corporate data and business applications is key for mobile workers to truly be efficient. Pulse Workspace’s app-agnostic secure container empowers BYOD users by giving them instant and secure connectivity to corporate data and apps via proven VPN technology,” said Jeff Green, senior vice president of product development at Pulse Secure. “Other security vendors today lack this ‘full access capability,’ and are only able to offer employees limited access to basic services such as email. We want to help enterprises rethink mobility, and that can only be achieved with seamless and secure VPN access for personal mobile devices.”

Pulse Workspace’s per-app connectivity is policy-based to tunnel app traffic over the VPN, enabling direct access to the Internet or to block traffic. Enterprise IT can enforce compliance policies, such as Android root detection, with certificate revocation or ActiveSync controls to supervise network access based on Workspace health. The threat of man-in-the-middle attacks and malware is eliminated because the Workspace prevents personal apps from accessing enterprise connections.
