CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Team Red, White and Blue (Team RWB), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting U.S. veterans, announced today that it has been awarded a grant through 2016 to ensure execution of the Chapter and Community Program, Leader Development and Regional Camps, in the Southeast Region of the United States. This grant will also fund the hiring of an additional leadership position based in Atlanta.
The Marcus Foundation will help to directly support the over 7,000 Team RWB members - and growing - in the Southeast Region. Team RWB’s efforts will support consistent and authentic local opportunities in communities across the Southeast for veterans to interact with their community through physical and social activity. Additionally, the support will enable Team RWB to invest in community leaders through athletic camps designed to educate, inspire and empower veterans to lead, while also allowing Team RWB the capacity to effectively sustain and grow its presence into the future.
“We are truly honored to partner with The Marcus Foundation as we endeavor to enrich the lives of veterans and their families,” said Blayne Smith, Executive Director of Team Red, White and Blue. “This investment will make a major impact on our programs throughout the Southeast. By adding more chapters, more camps, and more leader development, we will certainly build stronger communities. We are humbled and inspired by their trust and confidence in our organization and look forward to working together.”
