NxThera Receives Startup Award at the 2014 Tekne Awards

Fifteenth annual Tekne Awards recognized Minnesota’s technology innovators

MAPLE GROVE, Minn.--()--NxThera, Inc., a medical device company pioneering the application of its convective water vapor energy (Convective WAVE™) platform technology to treat endourology conditions, received the 2014 Tekne Award in the Startup category from the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) at the 15th Annual Tekne Awards ceremony held November 13th in Minneapolis.

The Tekne Awards honor companies, innovations and individuals for technological breakthroughs that positively impact the lives and futures of people living in Minnesota and around the world. MHTA presented the 2014 Tekne Awards to 12 of Minnesota’s most influential companies in technological innovation, development, commercialization and management.

NxThera’s co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Michael Hoey, a life-long Minnesota inventor, scientist, academician and entrepreneur, accepted the award on behalf of NxThera. “This Tekne award not only honors Michael’s vision of the power and potential of NxThera’s Convective WAVE™ technology platform to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer in memory of his father Francis, but also recognizes the technological innovation, development and clinical milestones our team has accomplished over the past several years.
