VIENNA & SEATTLE & LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Automic, www.automic.com, a leader in business automation software, today announced it has appointed Todd DeLaughter as Chief Executive Officer. Todd will succeed Richard Muirhead, who has successfully led Automic in an interim role since February and will continue to support EQT on other portfolio companies going forward.
Vagn Sørensen, Chairman of the Automic Board of Directors, stated: "We thank Richard for the very good progress Automic has made in his interim position over the past few months. The Board is confident that Todd is the right person to lead the company forward. He has deep and broad experience with the relevant automation related segments of the software sector as well as with cloud computing, a key growth area for Automic going forward. We believe that Todd’s proven leadership capabilities, his passion for technology, alongside his ability to create strategic clarity, drive innovation and deliver results will have a positive impact on the business and the industry as a whole.”
Todd has held a wide range of leadership positions in the software technology space particularly in mobility, cloud automation and systems management. Todd previously was CEO of Mformation Technologies, a leader in mobility management for wireless carriers worldwide, acquired by a private equity firm in 2012. Prior to Mformation, he was appointed CEO of Opalis Software, which at that time became the market leader in IT Process Automation software. Opalis was acquired by Microsoft in 2009, as a key component for its cloud computing automation strategy and currently ships in the Systems Center suite as SC Orchestrator and as enabling technology in Microsoft’s successful Azure cloud platform.
Todd began his career in Software Engineering before taking leadership positions at Compaq and Hewlett Packard. During his tenure as Vice President and General Manager of HP’s OpenView management software business, Todd successfully helped double the team’s revenue to $1 billion.
"I am thrilled to be here and excited about the possibilities," said Todd DeLaughter. "Automic, with its independent and deep experience in automation, is perfectly positioned during this period of explosive technology transition in the market where companies increasingly need automation to run business processes in a dynamic and flexible way across legacy data centers and hybrid cloud environments. The world of technology is in the midst of change that will profoundly shift how businesses operate.
