LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HitFix (www.hitfix.com), the fastest-growing entertainment news brand in the U.S., today announced the appointment of Richard Rushfield as Editor-in-Chief, effective immediately.
Rushfield steps in for Gregory Ellwood, co-founder and board director, who will transition to Editor Emeritus continuing to cover prestige films, festivals, and general movie coverage as well as consult for the site.
“I’m thrilled that Richard is joining the HitFix Executive Team. His leadership, editorial vision, social media prowess and track record of success growing entertainment brands will be a valuable asset to HitFix as we strive to become a category leader in entertainment,” says CEO and co-founder Jen Sargent.
Formerly at Yahoo! Entertainment, Richard brings almost 20 years of editorial experience including heading the Los Angeles Times online entertainment editorial and positions at Buzzfeed and Gawker.
