KKR Global Institute: “Unlocking the World for Central and Eastern European Champions”

New report assesses the ways in which local CEE companies can be transformed into global champions

LONDON--()--Johannes Huth, Member & head of KKR EMEA, Martin Rajcan and Tomas Kubica, both investment executives at KKR, offer an in-depth look at the internationalization potential of Central Eastern Europe (“CEE”) companies in KKR Global Institute’s latest issue paper, “Unlocking the World for Central and Eastern European Champions.”

The report draws on the institutional knowledge of KKR which has evaluated a variety of investment opportunities in the CEE region and across Europe, and is based on numerous dialogues with entrepreneurs and CEOs of the region’s leading companies, advisors, and government officials.

Johannes Huth, Member & head of KKR EMEA, said: “The people of CEE inspired the world in 1989 by peacefully standing up for their dreams. Over this past quarter century, the CEE region has experienced strong convergence with the West in terms of economic growth, democratization and integration into the Euro-Atlantic security.

“We believe that over the next 25 years, CEE can harness their talents to further realize the region’s economic potential. Companies, governments, and investors each have their role to play in propelling more CEE companies to the global stage and in being long-term partners for the next generation of local entrepreneurs”, Johannes Huth concludes in the report.

The report “Unlocking the World for Central and Eastern European Champions” can be found on KKR’s web site at http://www.kkr.com/global-perspectives/publications.

KKR has a long and established presence in Europe, with more than $20 billion of equity invested since 1996 in more than 40 European companies across 9 industry sectors and 95 European executives as of September 30, 2014.
