HKTDC: At Electronica the Hong Kong Electronics Sector Presents Its High-Performance Capabilities on Eight Joint Stands

FRANKFURT, Germany--()--Products and services on show at this year’s electronica from November 11 to 14 in Munich range from micro- and nanosystems, through semi-conductors and embedded systems, all the way to EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) and electronic products for the medical sector. Exhibitors will include 56 companies from Hong Kong presenting their new products on several joint stands organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) in conjunction with Messe München International (MMI Asia Pte Ltd).

Those will be spread across the halls A1, A2, A3 (including display area), A6, B2, B4, B5 and B6. In hall A1 four Hong Kong companies will showcase a range of insulation testers, sound level meters, digital multimeters, calibrators and PCB design tools. Visitors will find a large selection of printed circuit boards and other circuit carriers as well as Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) in the halls A2 and A3 where 22 Hong Kong companies will be exhibiting their products. Six further companies will be present in the display area in Hall A3.

Semi-conductors and other components for automobile systems are supplied by the companies SPL (Hong Kong) Ltd. (Hall A6.539) and Hong Kong Inventory Limited (Hall A6.565). Transformers, inductors, LED drives and other products for power supply are showcased by five exhibitors in Hall B2. Cable products, switches and keyboards as well as passive components are in the portfolio of the 17 exhibitors showcasing in the halls B4, B5 and B6.

At 59 per cent, the export share of electronics products in 2013 represented more than half of Hong Kong’s total exports and consisted to a large extent of high-tech products for telecommunications, semi-conductors and computers. From January till September 2014, exports rose by 6.2 per cent to around USD 209 billion and imports to Hong Kong by 7.5 per cent (USD 220 billion).

The importance of the electronic sector in Hong Kong was confirmed in October during the world’s largest electronics trade fair: the HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) which was held in conjunction with electronicAsia. The HKTDC registered around 4.100 exhibitors and 95,000 buyers. The next HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) will be taking place from April 13 to 16, 2015.
