Kelli Parsons Joins New York Life as Chief Corporate Communications and Marketing Officer

NEW YORK--()--New York Life announced today that Kelli Parsons has joined the company as Chief Corporate Communications and Marketing Officer, effective November 17. She will assume responsibility for the Corporate Communications Department and will report directly to New York Life Chairman and CEO Ted Mathas.

Ms. Parsons has had a distinguished career in communications and marketing management, as well as journalism. Most recently she served as Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer for Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), the Fortune 20 government sponsored enterprise that enables people to buy, refinance, or rent a home. Ms. Parsons’ responsibilities at Fannie Mae included communications, marketing and community engagement. Her Fannie Mae team was selected by PR Week magazine as 2014 Team of the Year.

Previously, Ms. Parsons was Vice President of Global Communications and Marketing for Warburg Pincus LLC, a leading global private equity investment institution, and an Executive Vice President and General Manager for Hill & Knowlton Ltd, a global public relations firm, where she headed the firm’s corporate practice and its New York and Washington offices.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Parsons was a television news reporter for NBC and CBS affiliates in Nashville, Louisville and Houston, covering business, politics and breaking news. She also served in New York with CBS, working on the Evening News and other programs. Ms. Parsons received a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, and a bachelor’s degree from Murray State University.

Ms. Parsons and her husband, Scott, plan to relocate to the New York area from their current residence in McLean, Virginia.
