Pramerica Systems Ireland and Mulroy College partner to mentor students

LETTERKENNY, Ireland--()--Pramerica Systems Ireland, a software and contact centre subsidiary of U.S.-based Prudential Financial, Inc. (PFI) [NYSE:PRU], partnered once again with Mulroy College in Milford to launch a mentoring programme for the school’s fifth-year students. The undertaking is operated by The Schools’ Business Partnership Programme, an education inclusion initiative facilitated by Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI).

“We’re very grateful to Pramerica employees for making another two-year commitment to the students here,” said Fiona Temple, principal of Mulroy College. “The mentors inspire our students to achieve their goals.”

Nine Pramerica employees will meet at least one hour per month with the students to help them prepare for the transition from school to employment or to higher education. “Pramerica is delighted that so many of our employees have volunteered to become involved in this initiative,” said Leeanne Mimnagh, human resources director at Pramerica. “Mentoring not only benefits the students, but it also gives our employees the opportunity to develop their leadership, team-building, interpersonal and communication skills. Programmes like this one are also an important part of Pramerica's commitment to the early identification of top talent.”

“The student mentoring programme has been a great success on a national level for so many students,” said Elaine McFadden, regional coordinator – Donegal, BITCI. “We recognise the leadership and commitment Pramerica demonstrates by continuing to guide and share their business expertise with these young adults, and we look forward to further strengthening the ties between Pramerica and Mulroy College over the coming years.”

The Schools’ Business Partnership is funded by the participating businesses and the School Completion Programme (The Department of Children and Youth Affairs).
