DigitalOcean Continues Its Innovative Hiring Approach Using TrueAbility

Cloud Company Launches Online Technical Challenge to Find Qualified Linux Professionals

NEW YORK--()--DigitalOcean, the world’s fastest growing cloud provider built for developers, today announced it has launched a large-scale online technical challenge using TrueAbility, which will accelerate the hiring of top technical talent.

DigitalOcean’s “Docker Puzzle Challenge” will test competitors’ technical ability using basic Linux skills and Docker, an open-source technology that automates the deployment of applications inside software containers.

Designed to highlight open positions, the technical challenge is powered by TrueAbility’s online technical skill assessment platform. TrueAbility is the world’s first online technical interview that empowers an organization to test technical abilities using hands-on scenarios and tasks that must be solved in a real environment.

Active November 1–30, the month-long skills challenge is complete with a public leaderboard. Prizes range from a drone quadricopter and T-shirts to DigitalOcean hosting credits. The top 10 performers will be guaranteed an interview with DigitalOcean, should they wish to capitalize on the opportunity.

“We wanted to attract candidates by engaging with them in an innovative way,” said Ben Uretsky, DigitalOcean’s CEO. “A TrueAbility online technical challenge is fun and allows them to demonstrate their ability in a natural environment without the typical stress associated with a technical interview.”
