The Limited Joins St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® Thanks and Giving® Campaign

Campaign supports lifesaving research and treatment of childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases

COLUMBUS, Ohio--()--The Limited announced today that it is supporting the annual St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® Thanks and Giving® campaign, an unprecedented union of celebrities, media, retail and corporate brands, that asks consumers to donate while they shop during the holiday season to support the lifesaving research and treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.

“The Limited community has a long history of giving back to the community, especially to those in need, and I’m proud that our team is united and enthusiastic in our support of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® Thanks and Giving® campaign,” said Diane Ellis, CEO of The Limited. “We’re encouraging our clients to join us because while St. Jude has far-reaching impact on medical treatment in communities everywhere, it also makes a lasting impact on individuals and families, just like ours. Many of these individuals are connected to our brand, our associates and our communities.”

For the first time ever, all The Limited stores, as well as its offices in Columbus, Ohio and New York City, will participate in the annual campaign, which has raised more than $487 million in the past decade. Proceeds from the campaign help St. Jude provide cutting-edge treatment and pursue visionary research. These funds are critical given that no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.

Now through the end of the year, customers can support the campaign by making a donation at any of our store locations or online by visiting http://www.thelimited.com/features/donate-to-st-jude/. No purchase is necessary.

"I am thrilled that The Limited is now a part of the St. Jude family," said Marlo Thomas, national outreach director for St. Jude. "Their participation in the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign will ensure that St. Jude can continue the lifesaving research and treatment that has brought hope to so many families. Their support will also help us stay true to my father's promise that no family pays St. Jude for anything."

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened 50 years ago, and St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent in the next decade. The hospital freely shares the breakthroughs it makes, so every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

Created by Marlo, Terre and Tony Thomas – children of St. Jude founder Danny Thomas – the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign asks people to "Give thanks for the healthy kids in your life, and give to those who are not” in order to help St. Jude continue its mission of finding cures and saving children.
