WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MLive recently announced that Barbat Holdings LLC is among the finalists for its 10th annual Deals of the Year for 2014. Barbat Holdings, owned by CEO Joe Barbat, is re-developing The Montgomery House in to a 30 unit ultra high end condominium development. The building was originally the Montgomery Ward building located in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor. Barbat Holdings purchased the building, located at 210-216 Fourth Avenue in downtown Ann Arbor in 2013.
CEO Joe Barbat said in a statement, “I have a passion for honoring the historical attributes of a building while providing certain attributes with modernized amenities to the upper echelon users who appreciate this sort of living environment and can afford to live at The Montgomery House. While I understand this product may not be suitable to everyone however, we are introducing something very unique the market place has never experienced before and the response has been overwhelming as we have secured several reservations to date.” The Montgomery House blends high end residential, business, and entertainment to create a unique urban living experience. The first level will include a variety of retail establishments, including restaurants. The basement will house the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase which opens its doors this week. The condos – 30 units in all, ranging from studios to three bedroom penthouse units – give their occupants the best of upscale urban living, just steps from their doors.
Construction on Montgomery House is well under way, with residents expected to move in starting in Q3 2015. The Montgomery House renovation is part of a renaissance, expanding the downtown area and making Fourth Avenue a hot spot.
With all of its developments, Barbat Holdings strives to maintain the integrity of existing structures and their ties to history. As with its other revitalizations, Barbat Holdings pays tribute to the Ann Arbor building’s original use through its name The Montgomery House.
The building has drawn a diverse group of Purchaser’s that include empty nesters, professionals, and even young couples. Amenities of the very upscale living spaces include a roof terrace that offers roof top lounge seating, a contemporary kitchen and bathroom, outdoor patios, and 15-foot ceilings.
