One School To Win $25,000 In Bob’s Discount Furniture ‘Celebrate The Arts’ Contest

Contest Entries Piling In For The Ninth Annual Contest That Supports Visual, Creative And Performing Arts Programs

MANCHESTER, Conn.--()--Bob’s Discount Furniture says contest submissions are piling in for its ninth annual Celebrate the Arts contest where one winning school in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states will win $25,000. The Celebrate the Arts contest, led by Bob’s Discount Furniture’s Outreach Program, is designed to support and maintain visual, creative and performing arts in schools. Bob’s Outreach will continue to accept contest entries through Oct. 31, after which it will randomly select one school to receive the $25,000 grant to support cultural arts contests during the current school year.

Bob’s Discount Furniture has awarded more than $300,000 since starting the Celebrate the Arts contest in 2006 after observing school districts in many of the communities it serves scaling back their fine arts programs and cultural arts assemblies. This year, Bob’s will again randomly select one K-12 school in one of the 11 states where the company’s furniture stores are located (CT, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, and VA).

“It’s exciting to watch this contest grow year over year as it shows that schools are dedicated to keeping and growing their Cultural Arts programs,” said Cathy Poulin, public relations director, Bob’s Discount Furniture. “The arts are such an important part of education, which is why Bob’s remains so committed to this annual grant contest.”

“We are so thankful to Bob’s Discount Furniture for the grant we received as part of the Celebrate the Arts contest,” said Stephen Sylvia, principal of Squantum Elementary School in Quincy, Mass., one of last year’s contest winners. “The grant allowed our entire community to benefit by supporting projects and initiatives that enhance the arts and we’re excited to enter again this year.”

Applicants can enter the contest by completing a form with their personal contact information, as well as their school’s information. Entry forms can be found at http://www.mybobs.com/celebrate-the-arts/ and no purchase is necessary. All entries must be submitted by Oct. 31.
