Criterion Systems Appraised at CMMI Level 3

Government Agencies Continue to Benefit from Criterion’s CMMI, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 20000-1:2005, and ISO 27001:2005-Certified Processes

VIENNA, Va.--()--Criterion Systems is pleased to announce that the company has been appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®). The appraisal was performed by Acme Process Group. This achievement marks Criterion’s most recent milestone in enhancing its quality processes and customer-focused service delivery.

Criterion, a systems integrator providing innovative, technology-enabled business solutions to government agencies, demonstrated Level 3 compliance with CMMI for Development (CMMI-DEV) v1.3 (Continuous) during an independent appraisal. An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.

"Criterion continues to invest in maturing the company’s quality and business practices to ensure our customers benefit from decreased project costs, increased schedule predictability, and improved product quality,” said Promod Sharma, president and CEO of Criterion. “In today’s competitive market, government agencies are looking for reliable industry partners that combine demonstrated experience with process maturity. We are seeing an increasing number of procurements, especially Alliant Small Business task orders, that require the prime contractor hold ISO and CMMI certifications. The achievement of CMMI Level 3 is another differentiator for Criterion as we join the ranks of the few small businesses that have achieved this prestigious rating.”

Criterion also holds International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008, ISO 20000-1:2005, and ISO 27001:2005 certifications.

Criterion’s commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous process improvement is evidenced by dozens of Criterion professionals who leverage the company’s mature Quality Management Framework to support projects with government agencies, including the Departments of Energy (DOE) and Agriculture (USDA) and the Air Force.
