PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Carrington College, a part of DeVry Education Group, began accepting new students at its Portland, Oregon, campus, in its dental assisting, massage therapy, medical assisting, medical billing and coding, pharmacy technology and veterinary assisting certificate programs.
Recently, Carrington re-evaluated its operations in Portland to find an increased demand for its programs. As part of its program expansion, Carrington is working with the recently closed Anthem College to accept transfer students in several health care programs. Carrington has established an agreement with Anthem Education in other markets and will extend transfer opportunities to students in Portland and Beaverton.
“At Carrington College, we understand how difficult the decision to go to school can be, which is why we entered into an agreement with Anthem Education to accept eligible transfer students from their closed campuses,” said Jeff Akens, president of Carrington College. “To those students impacted, we want them to know that they don’t have to give up on their dreams; there are options out there.”
Carrington is committed to honoring the Anthem students’ tuition as outlined in their original enrollment agreement for certificate and degree programs. Transferred students will not be charged for additional classes that are required under Carrington’s curriculum, except in those instances where a student needs to repeat a course. Anthem students that are qualified to transfer must have completed their first term of Anthem courses and meet Carrington’s academic requirements.
“We’ve always seen great potential and tremendous opportunity in Portland and are looking forward to continuing to serve this community,” said Akens. “As the starting point for health care careers, Carrington is committed to providing quality education for health care professionals in Portland for years to come.”
Carrington College has also agreed to assist student transfers from certain Anthem Education certificate and associate degree programs in Phoenix and Mesa, Arizona; Sacramento and Citrus Heights, California; and Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. It is expected that several hundred students will be eligible for transfer from Anthem College campuses.
Anthem College students enrolled in dental assisting, massage therapy, medical assisting, medical billing and coding and pharmacy technology programs should call Carrington College at 888-720-5014 to discuss the transfer process.
