WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Stradley Ronon announced today that veteran trial, appellate and enforcement lawyer Jeffrey E. McFadden has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, D.C., office. He was most recently chair of the securities litigation and enforcement practice group at Steptoe & Johnson LLP.
McFadden has nearly 25 years of experience litigating cases in state and federal courts and administrative forums across the country. He represents corporations and individuals in high-stakes civil and criminal litigation, administrative enforcement matters and arbitrations. McFadden has extensive experience in private securities litigation in areas such as securities fraud class actions, shareholder derivative suits and transaction injunction suits. He has represented corporate and individual clients in numerous SEC and FINRA enforcement investigations and has substantial litigation experience in officer and director liability and advancement and indemnification rights under state corporate law. In addition, McFadden has significant experience defending clients in federal False Claims Act cases, particularly in cases alleging health care fraud and mortgage fraud.
McFadden also brings to Stradley Ronon significant white-collar criminal defense and corporate internal investigations experience, including service to the Special Investigative Committee of the Board of Directors of Enron Corp.
“Jeff’s hiring, along with the recent expansion of our New York office, is part of the firm’s strategic initiative to give our clients on-the-ground access – from D.C. to New York – to a broader range of legal services that directly meet their specific needs,” said Stradley Ronon Chairman William R. Sasso. “As we expand our platform and our footprint in the mid-Atlantic region, I think companies will continue to respond positively to the alignment between the value of our services and the results we produce.”
“Across the board, whether in the corporate, regulatory, litigation or enforcement spaces, Stradley Ronon has one of the finest securities practices in the country, and I am thrilled and honored to be a part of it,” said McFadden.
Stradley Ronon represents clients in all types of securities litigation and enforcement matters, including federal securities lawsuits, broker-dealer litigation, and regulatory and internal investigations. The firm’s securities litigators combine broad knowledge of, and deep experience in, the industry with seasoned trial, investigative and negotiation skills. Stradley Ronon’s clients span the spectrum of entities involved in securities matters, including public and private companies, mutual funds, investment advisers, hedge funds, banks, broker-dealers and insurance companies, along with their directors, officers and employees.
“Jeff’s deep litigation and internal investigations experience is a great complement to our nationally recognized investment management and securities practices,” said Alison M. Fuller, partner-in-charge of Stradley Ronon’s Washington, D.C., office. “In the last two years, our Washington office has added a number of lawyers from the SEC and other government agencies, as well as AmLaw 100 firms, so Jeff’s background fits well with our collective experience and growing capabilities.”
McFadden received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.S. from the U.S. Naval Academy.
