zpizza Launches Nice zSlice Campaign to Support Bullying Prevention Awareness Nationwide

Artisan-Inspired Pizza Chain Celebrates National Bullying Prevention Month by Partnering with Local Schools to Recognize Kids Doing Kind Acts

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif.--()--In honor of National Bullying Prevention Month this October, zpizza, the first artisan-inspired pizza chain, announced it is teaming up with local schools nationwide to launch the Nice zSlice program, a campaign where teachers reward children for exhibiting kindness to others. As part of the program teachers at participating schools across the country will be provided with “Nice zSlice” certificates that can be awarded to standout students who display thoughtful consideration for others, by being courteous, encouraging, helpful or gracious to their fellow classmates. Each certificate can be redeemed for a free slice of pizza at participating zpizza restaurants.

“As a restaurant serving families in communities across the country, we want to help send a message that being kind to others is important in school and in life,” said Chris Bright, president of zpizza. “We’re excited to partner with local schools and teachers through the Nice zSlice program to help do our part in rewarding cooperation and respect on the playground and beyond.”

According to DoSomething.org, more than 3.2 million students are victims of bullying each year, and nearly 1 in 10 drop out due to repeated bullying; an estimated 160,000 students stay home from school each day to avoid bullying. The Nice zSlice program encourages a reduction in these numbers by rewarding kids for positive acts of kindness. More than 200 elementary schools will participate in the program throughout October and will engage teachers to identify student recipients.

“Our school motto is go out and be a ‘Kid for Others,’ and the Nice zSlice campaign is a great incentive for our students to help support our efforts and encourage our kids be the voice of change,” said Principal Kim Cavnar of St. Francis Xavier in Phoenix, Ariz. “We are fortunate to have this opportunity with zpizza to recognize the kids beyond their academic achievements and in turn, promote compassion amongst our youth and safe learning environments all year round.”

The Nice zSlice campaign will extend for the month of October, giving all students at participating schools the chance to be rewarded for their kind behavior. zpizza’s hand-crafted artisan dishes are kid-friendly and parent-approved, made with premium ingredients, including fresh produce, award-winning skim mozzarella from grass-fed Wisconsin cows, certified organic tomato sauce, MSG-free pepperoni with no added nitrites or preservatives, additive-free sausage and 100 percent all-natural, and non-GMO flour.
