WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.--()--For the fourth consecutive year, Hatch®, the leading provider of technology for early childhood classrooms, received a national award for its newest software for kids. TeachSmart 3.0 by Hatch school readiness software for interactive whiteboards and multi-touch displays was selected by the ComputED Gazette as the winner in the early learning category in the 19th Annual Education Software Review (EDDIE) Awards.

“Kids in the classroom embrace Hatch technology and use it intuitively from the moment they pick it up,” said Dr. Dana Love, Hatch Vice President. “We are excited that the ComputED Gazette recognizes Hatch as the lone pioneer in developing software for early childhood that is fun for children and delivers results for educators.”

Hatch won an EDDIE Award in 2011 for iStartSmart kindergarten readiness software, and again in 2013 for WePlaySmart cooperative learning software for multi-touch tables. In 2012, Hatch won the Best Education Software Award for CoreFocus® interactive whiteboard software for K-1.

“We congratulate Hatch as the singular winner in the Early Learning software category,” said Marie Karr, ComputED Gazette Editor. “Hatch consistently develops innovative and content-rich technologies that supplement the early learning curriculum and improve teacher productivity, providing parents and teachers with the technology to foster educational excellence.”

TeachSmart gives early learners quick access to the only early learning software research-tested to increase a child’s readiness to learn the reading and math skills required for success in school. The software also supports inclusive classrooms with a range of developmental levels, from emerging to intervention to typically developing.

The ComputEd Gazette presents the EDDIE Awards each year to recognize educational technology that provides high-quality academic content, potential for broad classroom use, technical merit, appropriate subject approach, and a teacher-friendly management system. Winners are selected from titles submitted by publishers worldwide.
