WHAT:

The Ford Driving Dreams Tour, which promotes on-time high school graduation and college enrollment, will launch during Hispanic Heritage Month in Chicago on October 7 with a high energy motivational pep rally and empowerment speaker. The Tour brings Ford Motor Company Fund educational programs and partnerships to a community to create a deep impact and provide resources for schools and students. The innovative program targets schools with a significant Latino population and uses several elements to motivate students: pep rallies, scholarships, contests and prizes, and school grants for college and career preparedness activities.

More than 3,800 students from seven Chicago high schools are expected to participate in the program October 7-10. The schools are East Chicago Central High School, Roberto Clemente Community Academy, George Washington High School, and Charter Schools: Antonia Pantoja Community Charter School, Mirta Ramirez Computer Science High School, and ASPIRA Early College High School. Local partners include USHLI and ASPIRA.

At each pep rally national empowerment speaker Roy Juarez will share his inspirational story and challenge students to be resilient and pursue their education. Students will get the opportunity to learn about the contest, and the scholarships that will be available to them.
