Granite Awarded $21 Million Freeway Project in California

WATSONVILLE, Calif.--()--Granite Construction Incorporated (NYSE: GVA) announced today that it has been awarded a $21 million contract for the State Route 99/Hosking Avenue Interchange by the City of Bakersfield. Granite expects to book the project into backlog during the third quarter of 2014.

Scope of the work includes the demolition and replacement of the existing two-lane bridge over State Route 99 with a new six-lane overcrossing. The project is being funded by the Thomas Roads Improvement Program (TRIP), a cooperative effort between the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, Caltrans and the Kern Council of Governments.
