DUARTE, Calif.--()--Nationally respected marketing, branding and management expert Lisa Stockmon is joining City of Hope in the new role of chief marketing and communications officer. Currently chief marketing officer and executive vice president of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Stockmon will provide the overall strategic leadership for City of Hope marketing and communications initiatives as the cancer treatment center and biomedical research institution enters a new era of growth and development.

Respected for her collaborative leadership, insightful brand integration, digital marketing experience and third-party partnership development, Stockmon joins City of Hope as it focuses on expanding access to its academic-level medicine, translational research and uniquely compassionate care. In her new role, she will join an executive leadership team committed to positioning the institution for current and future growth.

“City of Hope has developed a national reputation as a strong academic medical institution, known for leading-edge research, superior outcomes and patient-focused care,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Robert W. Stone. “As we grow in new and exciting ways, it’s more crucial than ever that we have a strong marketing and communications leader who can build upon the foundation we’ve already established. Lisa will help elevate national and international awareness of City of Hope’s impact on people around the world.”

Stockmon will work closely and collaboratively with other members of City of Hope’s executive team to increase engagement with City of Hope among potential patients, physicians, researchers, donors and the general public. She will lead City of Hope's branding; advertising; government and community relations; media relations; marketing; publications; events and visitor services; speakers' bureau; public relations; and external and internal communications.

At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a Forbes Top 50 charity with more than 60 chapters across the United States and Canada, Stockmon led an aggressive consumer expansion in existing and new markets. She drove revenue growth through expansion of digital marketing and brand awareness; launched LLS's new brand platform, "Someday Is Today"; and increased online direct giving by 35%.

“I’m thrilled to join such a strong, vibrant and growing institution,” Stockmon said. “City of Hope’s accomplishments in the field of cancer treatment and biomedical research have changed lives around the globe, and as the healthcare environment evolves, more people need to understand the impact of City of Hope’s life-saving research and care. I look forward to sharing that message with new audiences in new ways.”

Prior to her role at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Lisa served as managing director for Time Inc. Content Solutions and as corporate vice president for Brand Planning & Development for Time Warner Cable. At Time Inc. she managed strategy and development of multi-platform marketing communications plans and led overall strategy, tactical planning and content development for marketing and service content across all digital channels. At Time Warner, she launched the company's first integrated brand advertising campaign.

She has also served as marketing director for The Limited, and in senior marketing leadership positions for Golden West Financial Corporation and Cinemax Marketing.
