Broadview Delivers Customer Productivity and Security Enhancements to Cloud-Based OfficeSuite Phone Service

RYE BROOK, N.Y.--()--Broadview Networks®, a leading cloud-based provider of communications and information technology services, today announced several enhancements to its award-winning OfficeSuite® Phone service. These features and upgrades are available now to all current customers and include the following:

  • PC Console – A PC-based softphone that provides supervisors, managers and receptionists with an intuitive dashboard for directing and managing incoming calls for the entire organization. The PC Console’s color-coded indicators allow anyone to quickly view the availability of as many as 400 employees, no matter where they are physically located. This allows attendants to provide a more precise and professional response to each caller, streamlining the entire call management process.
  • Call Recording – Customers can now record selective incoming and outgoing calls for any extension or phone number. Organizations looking to mitigate risks or comply with regulatory standards can easily record, access and review recorded calls from an easy-to-use website. Calls can be stored in the cloud, downloaded and reviewed by administrators with credentials.
  • Voicemail Transcription – Never listen to voicemail again by having the OfficeSuite® Phone system automatically email the transcribed text of every recorded message. Employees can read voicemail from their desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone anywhere they receive email. Each email also includes the original recording so that employees can listen to the messages if desired. Voicemail Transcription can easily be set up on any extension and is free to try for all customers until December 2014.
  • Multi-desking – Executives and managers with multiple offices and employees on the go can enable multi-desking, which allows as many as five phones to be logged into a single OfficeSuite® Phone extension at once. It allows employees to make and receive calls from any one of the logged in phones and select a primary phone for pages and intercom calls.
  • OfficeSuite® Dialer – Starting a phone call is now just a click away. With OfficeSuite® Dialer installed on any Windows® computer, a simple click from an email, webpage, document or directory launches a call to your OfficeSuite® phone. This feature eliminates mis-dials and transposed phone numbers.
  • PC Softphone – Customers with OfficeSuite® PC Softphones can upgrade their software for free to get an improved, even more intuitive interface and additional features, including support for Microsoft® Exchange directories and an integrated XMPP chat client. The new PC Softphone also adds support for Windows® 8 and offers Workgroup Presence that gives employees the ability to see when another employee is on a call.
  • Do Not Disturb – Customers can easily set up their own one-touch phone memory key from the OfficeSuite® Phone website to redirect a single incoming call to voicemail or to another destination when they are too busy or unwilling to take a call. Touch the button again to redirect all calls temporarily.

“We continue to adapt and develop our services to stay ahead of the evolving trends and requirements of our business customers,” said Jeff Blackey, Senior Vice President of Marketing. “Unlike other providers that leverage third-party software to service customers, we own the code used to service OfficeSuite Phone customers and actively develop the service based on what customers tell us they want.”
