PointCare Launches Enrollment Tracker 2.0 to Eliminate ACA ‘Spreadsheet Pandemonium' During Sign-up Period for Health Centers Nationwide

Cloud-based software enhancement ensures streamlined enrollment and data-reporting capabilities to help health centers meet strict new funding requirements

SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--PointCare, one of the few enrollment success stories from the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) 2013 launch, today announced the unveiling of Enrollment Tracker 2.0. This latest software enhancement is a module added onto PointCare’s successful screening tool, PointCarePA, providing health coverage enrollment entities with critical data tracking capabilities.

PointCarePA is a web-based health coverage screening, enrollment tracking and reporting software that helps community health clinics and other entities nationwide more easily screen for coverage and streamline the intake of important enrollment data for grant funding, accreditation, and ACA exchange reporting purposes.

Last Open Enrollment, PointCarePA’s mobile-friendly, 90-second coverage questionnaire helped early adopters sign-up tens of thousands of applicants at outreach and enrollment locations, such as pop-up storefronts, parks, and schools. Now, with Enrollment Tracker 2.0, these same organizations can instantly report on data collected during those events, as well as enrollment information for every patient screened. This centralized data can be downloaded in seconds with the click of a button.

“Glitches and incomplete applications led to lost revenue for many health centers that relied on manual data entry as they tried to help millions of applicants sign up during the initial enrollment effort,” noted Everett Lebherz, Vice President of PointCare. “This year, the process needs to be more refined - resulting in a critical demand for cutting edge technology, like Enrollment Tracker 2.0.”

Enhanced screening and enrollment data tracking capabilities include:

  • Real-time reporting of the number of assists (coverage screenings completed) and eligibility touches to quantify ongoing eligibility steps with enrollee
  • Program application statuses – those approved and those with pending coverage
  • Final status outcomes – includes breakdown of number of application submissions in process, cancelled, and approved
  • Specific PCP selection – a confirmation of enrollees who’ve picked their primary care physicians, an important tracking feature as FQHCs are reimbursed for all Medicaid patients who have selected their clinic as PCP
  • Initial payment status reports – to indicate enrollees who’ve made their initial premium payment and those who need follow-up to ensure full effectuation into coverage programs. This will eliminate a major stumbling block faced during the ACA’s 2013 enrollment.

Patient data gathered in Enrollment Tracker 2.0 will enable clinics to integrate the "front end" of enrollment (i.e., eligibility touches, screenings, etc.) to the "back end" of enrollment (i.e., tracking which plan/program the patient selected, whether the patient paid their premiums, etc.). This value is key as clinics are being incentivized through grants and mandated by other funding sources to do a better job of tracking the enrollment process from start to finish.

PointCare, with roots in the non-profit world, has already assisted its clients with screening more than 670,000 Americans. PointCare’s technology was created to engage patients as part of the solution by introducing them to public and private health coverage options that assist with retroactive and future medical costs. The company’s clients include hospitals, revenue cycle vendors, and clinics nationwide.
