John Nelson, chairman of Lloyd’s of London, discusses growth in under-insured parts of the world. “The biggest challenges for Lloyd’s are to make sure we take advantage of the opportunities globally that this new world order is providing to us,” said Nelson. “In South America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and China, Lloyd’s has been very active, and as a result of all this activity, last Friday, Lloyd’s received permission to be licensed in Beijing.”
David Priebe, vice chairman at Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC, said he believes that the growth in alternative capital is really positive in the sense that it brings capacity to his clients, and it also helps to drive innovation.
