Thompson Hine Adds Labor and Employment Team to New York Office

Prominent Employment Lawyer for Financial Industry, Sharon Parella, Joined by Leah Ramos

NEW YORK--()--Thompson Hine LLP is pleased to announce it has expanded its Labor & Employment practice with the addition of Sharon Parella as partner and Leah Ramos as senior counsel in New York.

Parella has a unique practice concentrating in employment issues specific to the financial industry. She focuses on defending employers, including domestic and foreign financial institutions and their boards of directors, against discrimination, compensation and breach of contract claims in state and federal courts, and in front of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), fair employment practices agencies and other regulatory agencies. She has vast experience in employment issues related to financial industry mergers and acquisitions, significant restructurings and downsizings.

In addition, Parella regularly advises on employment issues related to discrimination, sexual harassment and workplace bullying claims and investigations, and employee misconduct, and provides training on these and related topics. She also drafts and negotiates employment and separation agreements, retention and consulting agreements, and employee handbooks and policies, and provides guidance on issues related to U.S. employees working abroad and on the application of U.S. employment laws to expatriate employees working in the United States. She is a frequent lecturer and author on topics including investigating sexual harassment, discrimination and workplace bullying claims, and on innovative workplace practices.
