LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fitch Ratings announces that Charles Seville has been appointed Head of North American Sovereign Ratings, where he will oversee analytical coverage for the United States, Canada and sovereigns in the Caribbean.
Mr. Seville was previously a Director in Fitch's Sovereign team based in London with analytical responsibility for a number of credits in Emerging Europe and The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). He joined Fitch in 2006 as an Associate Director covering sovereign credits in the Middle East and Asia.
Mr. Seville begins his new role today, based in New York. He will report to James McCormack, Fitch's Global Head of Sovereign and Supranational Ratings, based in London.

Prior to joining Fitch, Mr. Seville spent five years as a Latin America analyst at the Economist Intelligence Unit, where he was also an occasional contributor to The Economist newspaper. Previously, he worked as a Senior Editor and Economist for Business Monitor International, where he covered emerging markets.
Mr. Seville graduated with a Bsc (Econ) in Government from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and also holds a MPhil in Latin American Studies from Cambridge University, and a Master's Degree in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan.
