SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Atypon®, a leading provider of software to the scientific and scholarly publishing industry, today announced that the Russell Sage Foundation has signed an agreement with Atypon for Literatum to power the recently announced open access, RSF: The Russell Sage Foundation Journal of the Social Sciences. The Russell Sage Foundation chose the Literatum platform to manage and deliver their content and to provide valuable features to librarians and readers.
“With its sophisticated, user-friendly administrative tools, Literatum provides us with the tools we need to launch our new journal,” said Suzanne Nichols, Director of Publications for the Russell Sage Foundation. “We look forward to working with Literatum to expand the dissemination of RSF-funded research in the social science community.”
"We are excited to be supporting the Russell Sage Foundation as they introduce new online capabilities,” said Jonathan Hevenstone, Senior VP of Business Development at Atypon. “The introduction of a new Open Access journal by the Russell Sage Foundation will open up new dialog opportunities for the social sciences.”
The new journal is intended to promote cross-disciplinary collaborations on timely topics of interest to social scientists and other academic researchers, policymakers, and the public at large. Each issue will be thematic in nature and will focus on a specific research question or area of interest. The introduction to each issue will provide an accessible, broad, and synthetic overview of the research question under consideration and the current thinking from various fields. RSF will be a peer-reviewed, open-access journal of original empirical research by both established and emerging scholars. The first issue is scheduled to be published in fall 2015.
