WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste Political Action Committee (CCAGW PAC) announced its endorsement of Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.). Sen. Sessions received the highest score among the nine-member Alabama congressional delegation in CCAGW’s 2013 Congressional Ratings. With a score of 91 percent, Sen. Sessions earned the title of “Taxpayer Hero,” and he has been named a “Taxpayer Hero” 14 times during his tenure. He was elected to the United States Senate in November 1996 after serving 12 years as the United States Attorney for Alabama’s Southern District, followed by two years as the Alabama Attorney General.
“During his tenure in the Senate, Sen. Sessions has served the citizens of Alabama with great distinction and evinced an abiding commitment to fiscal conservatism,” said CCAGW PAC Chairman Tom Schatz. “He has shown steadfast leadership in the face of an intransigent and obstructionist Senate leadership and proved to be a tireless warrior for the interests of both his constituents and all U.S. taxpayers.”
On top of his prestigious voting record on behalf of taxpayers, Sen. Sessions has worked with his colleagues to help limit the role of government and provide tax relief to stimulate economic growth and empower Americans to keep more of their hard-earned money.
“Sen. Session’s work toward restraining the growth of federal spending and enacting permanent tax cuts that would benefit American families is one of the many reasons that I urge all Alabamians to vote for him on November 4 so he can return to Washington, D.C. and continue to serve as the ‘budget hawk’ senior senator from the Cotton State,” concluded Schatz.
CCAGW PAC is affiliated with the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste, a 501(c)(4) organization. CCAGW PAC’s mission is to support political candidates who will fight to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in government and represent the best interests of taxpayers.
