WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste Political Action Committee (CCAGW PAC) announced its endorsement of Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), who announced his candidacy to unseat Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.). Rep. Cotton received the highest score among the six-member Arkansas congressional delegation in CCAGW’s 2013 Congressional Ratings. With a score of 91 percent, Rep. Cotton earned the title of “Taxpayer Hero.” Prior to representing Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District, Rep. Cotton spent five years on active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan with the U.S. Army and returned a decorated war hero.
“During his tenure in the House, Rep. Cotton has served the citizens of Arkansas with great distinction and evinced an abiding commitment to fiscal conservatism,” said CCAGW PAC Chairman Tom Schatz. “When it comes to promoting small government, Rep. Cotton has shown steadfast leadership and cost-cutting enthusiasm as he has proved time and time again to be a tireless warrior for the interests of both his constituents and all U.S. taxpayers.”
On top of his prestigious voting record on behalf of taxpayers, Rep. Cotton has worked with his colleagues to help limit the role of government and provide tax relief to stimulate economic growth and empower Americans to keep more of their hard-earned money.
“Rep. Cotton’s work in the House has both slowed the growth of federal spending and benefited hard-working American families, which is one of the many reasons that I urge all Arkansans to vote for him on November 4. Rep. Cotton should return to Washington, D.C. as a U.S. Senator so he can take the fight to a fiscally irresponsible and obstructionist Senate leadership,” concluded Schatz.
CCAGW PAC is affiliated with the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste, a 501(c)(4) organization. CCAGW PAC’s mission is to support political candidates who will fight to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in government and represent the best interests of taxpayers.
