Announcing the second annual National Hemophilia Foundation Annual Meeting Pre-Conference Symposium, Hemophilia Pharmacy Management: Steps for Success with Managed Care and Specialty Pharmacy

NEW YORK--()--The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) and Impact Education, LLC (IE) are pleased to announce the second annual pre-conference symposium specifically designed for specialty pharmacists, home health pharmacists, health plan pharmacists, managed Medicaid pharmacists, medical directors and other healthcare professionals with an interest in the management of patients with hemophilia. This free, CME/CPE-certified activity is scheduled to take place on September 18, 2014 from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC, in conjunction with NHF’s 66th Annual Meeting.

Hemophilia is an expensive chronic condition with total annual costs that can average $250,000 or more for severe patients. Optimal outcomes require a collaborative and coordinated patient experience. The collaborative team can include an insurer, Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC), and specialty pharmacy. Specialty pharmacy services can support patient adherence to treatment and assist physicians, plans, and employers in meeting clinical and/or financial goals. This symposium features a multidisciplinary expert panel, including a Specialty Pharmacist, leading Hematologist, HTC Nurse Practitioner, and Managed Care expert. The program will emphasize the need for well-coordinated treatment management, the importance of understanding effective ways of using available treatments, and the value of having collaboration among all stakeholders.

Register today at www.impactedu.net/NHF14; space is limited. The symposium is jointly sponsored by NHF, IE, and the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine, and is supported by educational grants from Baxter BioScience, Bayer HealthCare, Biogen Idec, CSL Behring, and Novo Nordisk, Inc.
