Largest online global educator conference features keynote address from educational leaders Nic Borg and Steve Dembo; Edmodo’s newest product offerings; Edmodie Award winners

SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--Edmodo, the largest K-12 social learning network connecting more than 35 million teachers and students worldwide, is today hosting its fourth annual EdmodoCon, the largest online global educator conference. With more than 42,000 teachers and administrators from 172 countries registered to virtually attend, this year’s EdmodoCon includes a keynote address by Edmodo Co-Founder Nic Borg and Discovery Education’s Steve Dembo, 10 teacher-led presentations on innovative ways to use Edmodo in the classroom, as well as in-depth coverage of Edmodo’s latest offerings and the winners of the second annual Edmodie Awards.

Following the company’s most recent launch of Edmodo Snapshot, a frequent, formative assessment tool designed to pulse student proficiency on Common Core standards, Edmodo today announced the extension of this tool to include Texas TEKS and Virginia SOL state standards, with additional state and international standards on the horizon. As part of the Snapshot offering for teachers, Edmodo showcased its free content recommendation engine designed to further assist educators in surfacing valuable resources for personalized instruction purposes. In addition, Edmodo unveiled its redesigned iPhone app featuring a simplified user interface and core functions most used by teachers and students on mobile devices in the classroom environment.

“Over the past 12 months, we’ve really focused on two initiatives: integrating formative assessment into the platform with Snapshot and streamlining the mobile Edmodo experience across devices,” said Nic Borg, co-founder and chief product officer of Edmodo. “We want to empower teachers to be the maestro of their classrooms so they can drive student achievement, and these new developments will make the teaching and learning experience that much better.”
