TXU Energy Mobile Milestones Mark Easier-Than-Ever Customer Experience

Hundreds of thousands of Texans using mobile solutions to manage energy consumption and lower bills

DALLAS--()--TXU Energy, the first retail electricity provider to launch a mobile website for consumers to manage their accounts and consumption, is celebrating the anniversaries of its iPhone® and AndroidTM mobile applications that give users the convenience of free, 24/7 access to manage their bills and consumption, and help consumers make smarter decisions about their energy habits.

The company was the first retail electricity provider to launch a mobile app three years ago with an iPhone® app. One year later, an AndroidTM application launched and enabled even more users remote access to view and control their usage and bills. Today, more than 75 percent of TXU Energy customers prefer to do business through electronic and self-service tools like the mobile site and applications.

“We serve smart, tech-savvy customers who increasingly prefer to manage their business online or on-the-go,” said Kelley Heath, senior manager of online services at TXU Energy. “Understanding consumer needs, we answered with robust mobile applications, and we are excited to celebrate the anniversary of these convenient solutions that have maintained positive customer experiences and strong trust.”

More than 250,000 downloads later, customers can use the TXU Energy apps for iPhone® and AndroidTM anytime, anywhere, to pay and view bills, schedule payments, access electricity usage graphs, compare previous bills, manage usage and electricity costs, and more.

Customers who have the company’s Brighten® iThermostat (a thermostat controlled through Internet or smartphone access) can remotely change their temperature settings through their mobile app. Responsible management of thermostat settings can lead to lower electricity bills.
