LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--R.C. Giltner Services, a provider of financial services and technology products to financial institutions, has announced that FirstCapital Bank of Texas has begun offering the PaySound® “No Overdraft Fees Ever” Checking Plan to its customers.
Midland-based FirstCapital Bank of Texas opted to offer PaySound to give customers an alternative to incurring overdraft fees, and instead pay a flat rate of $14.95 per month. PaySound is offered exclusively to a single financial institution in each market area and addresses the growing concern among consumers about overdraft fees on checking accounts by providing the option of eliminating them.
“PaySound generates interest among the consumers who want to pay for the peace of mind that their financial transactions will not be processed if they do not have the funds to pay for them, and they won’t incur overdraft charges,” said Robert C. Giltner, president and CEO of R.C. Giltner Services. “For the age group 35 and under, this is a particularly important payment feature that they previously could not find with bank accounts.”
“As service charge income for most banks continues to face challenges and account growth is elusive, we needed to look at new channels and payment methods that are expanding,” said Ted Awerkamp, chief operating officer of FirstCapital Bank of Texas. “The PaySound approach offers us access to a new group of consumers who have a strong demand and are willing to pay for a checking account that doesn’t have overdraft charges.”
